Sludge blanket level measurement is the technique of measuring the boundary between two material densities e.g. water and a slightly higher density sludge.

Automation and Control - Replacing Unreliable Manual Techniques and Environmental Compliance

Customer: Wessex Water, England, UK

Process: Sludge Finder 2 replaced outmoded dipping probes which were unreliable and led to readings often including 'spikes' or 'flatlines' that would activate the RAS valves unnecessarily - using excess energy and making it more difficult to control the sludge blanket.
