Process Protection Applications

Process Protection covers a variety of applications within the Pulsar range. Our skills are in acoustic, ultrasonic monitoring, and we put these to good use in monitoring either absence or presence of flow in solids or liquids, or warning of over- or under-flow rates.

In this application at a major animal feed mill in the UK, flap switches have been replaced over time by our Pulsarguard 2010 units, monitoring graion flow into their mixers. Because they are non-invasive, they can not wear, and have provided the user with reliable and cost-effective protection from plant breakdown. The environment is very noisy and prone to high vibrations levels, but the 2010 units have performed superbly.

Sand-in-Oil monitoring is a specialist application where an acoustic monitor is used to measure the amount of sand flowing in an oil pipeline. Oil engineers use the infromation to make informed decisions about how to modulate oil pipeline characteristics.
