Flow Measurement Applications

There are two arms to our flow montioring activities. Non-contacting ultrasonic measurement using our Flow Oracle 160 (now incorporated into the Ultra 3 & 5) has become a standard through much of the Water Industry both in the UK and throughout the world, in most cases measuring (to BS3680) flow over a standard Primary Measuring Device such as a flume or weir. FlowCERT makes use of the unique DUET transducer system to produce the most accurate open channel flow system in the world, and will also work with Speedy, our Doppelr velocity sensor.Process Industry users take advantage of the advanced features to measure effluent and other outflows. The Flow Oracle can be extended to provide a full data logging solution and a full solution for industry is available in the form of Flo-pak. For process flow applications, the Pulsarflow 500 provides a non-invasive acoustic sensor that clamps to the outside of a pipe and provides a good indication of flow rate. The Pulsarflow 500 is designed primarily to provide a low cost, easily applied solution to the need to indicate flow rate or identify flow/no flow conditions.

1 Open Channel Flow - Process Outflow

A major UK chemical manufacturer chose Flo-pak to replace ageing equipment on their V-notch weir. The Flo-pak uses non-contacting ultrasonic technology to accurately measure flow rates, reporting on maximum and minimum flow rates and providing all the information required to report on effluent flows to the Environment Agency. Information is downloaded to a PC running Elephant Ultra software that runs the datalogging and information storage and retrieval function.
