Solids Level Measurement Applications

Pulsar produces a range of products ideal for use in solids level measurement applications. Single point level measurement such as rotating switches and vibrating probes, with options for varying the length of the probe and high temperatures, and also our world-beating non-contacting ultrasonic range. For ultrasonic equipment, solids applications present particular issues. The ultrasonic principle depends upon measuring the time it takes for a sound wave to reflect from a surface. Solids are characterised by the way that they do not lie flat, and maybe consist of large, irregular pieces. Other pieces of plant, such as cross braces in a vessel also intrude and the result is an echo trace that is a whole hotch-potch of conflicting signals. Using patented DATEM software, Pulsar equipment makes sense of this mass of information, and can make a reliable measurement in areas where it was simply not possible only a few years ago.
